    Has anyone gotten LXDE going on Gobo yet? It looks like a very promising light-weight desktop environment...

    Indeed it does, though last time I checked it still seemed a bunch of separate software put together rather than a true DE, am I wrong? In that case you should probably try to install them separately and see if they can work toghether once installed.
