What are they? As we grow how do we add additional moderators?

Good question. I have no idea, we need to hash them out and get them written down somewhere, soon if possible. What are people's thoughts?

    I agree with sambarino.
The only thing we need in this case are forum rules. They are also not that difficult to write out. Have an example below)).

These are the rules of the official GoboLinux support community:
    * No smut language, no personal offense, no flood, no trolling. The obvious things.
    * No propaganda of illegal activities (i.e. warez, child porn, drugs etc.). What are you doing here anyway?
    * Your posts should be relevant to the category you post them in. For anything else we have an "Off-topic" category.
    * Be precise in your requests. Posts like "HELP ME QUICK! I DUNNO WTF IS GOING ON" won't get you far.
    * Keep it simple. Spare the effort.
    * Treat your fellow comrades on this forum the same way you would like to be treated yourself.
    * Respect the developers. They do it for fun, not the money. And to worship Gobo, of course.
    * Moderators/Administrators exercise their power in order to keep the forum entropy at minimal level. If you are a bot/troll/microsoft executive/chaotic creature you will most certainly be modded down.
    * If you feel you were punished unfair - read all the rules again. You might have missed something. If you already did that - appeal to another moderator. We have a democracy here for God's sake!
    * Have a sense of humor. Enjoy your stay))

If you agree to the aforementioned rules - welcome aboard. Just be reasonable.

I say the rules suggested by molfar look good.

Agreed. Where should they be posted? The link to the forum from the main site? In the ToS?

As sticky on at least general, but in every category works as well.

They look good to me. Let's dress them up and get them posted, then I'll put them in the TOS as well. The default ones really aren't much good ("unless the copyright is owned by you"). Any other suggestions to go in there?

I've tidied and formatted them and put the post up - I consolidated a few together so they're broader in spirit but otherwise left it pretty much unchanged. Any more suggestions to improve them?

I have updated and expanded them a little bit, mostly to clarify, and reordered them to put the overarching principles at the top. There isn't really any substantive change, but I've added a rule "Be constructive. Aggressive, demeaning, or overly harsh comments are not welcome.", which I think is helpful for any sort of forum like this.

    Any objections or other suggestions?
