That's a bit of a hack. Too easy to forget. Also, when you "quote" a whisper, the person's name isn't in the whisper field.
EDIT: made post public (calica)
Posted By: m@cCoNo, I can't see quotes.Thisis all I can see.
Posted By: MichaelI have re-enabled HTML for members; does that make a difference? I can't duplicate your results by disabling HTML for myself. Now everything's fine...
Posted By: MichaelEdit: now I've disabled it for moderators; does the same thing happen for them?

yes. now my quotes can be seen correct in the preview but AREN'T formatted in the output.
Posted By: MichaelSigh. It's back on for everyone, then. I really don't see the use case for this "feature".Also, I noticed that html posts weren't formatted as well. Maybe that option is simply useful when you want to disable html output?
Posted By: MichaelI imagine we'll just turn off HTML completely and suck up that all the old posts don't format properly any more.
Posted By: vazubBut html had some bugs, iirc.Posted By: MichaelI imagine we'll just turn off HTML completely and suck up that all the old posts don't format properly any more.
Well, that's mostly why I doubted the need for fiddling with BBCode in the first place. It was quite ok the way it was.

You couldn't quote and have other markup around at the same time. The BBCode extension seems to be buggy too, but not destructively.
